Ancient Bristle Cone Pines

I had to stand here for 2 hours in 20 degree weather at 10,000 feet for this photo.  I'm cold just thinking about it.  These trees only grow here in the California White mountains and another little patch in Colorado.  The Ancient Bristle Cone pines are the old living things on the earth.  They only like this alpine desert area.  The oldest trees are 2000-5000 years old. 

 The national park was closed so the only way was to snow shoe in and snowboard out!
